Re: Seriously hate my TDI

Not sure, they just said they replaced the gasket on the tandem pump. They are VW specialists, surely they would of checked the intercooler? I dont know. TBH I only drove it about 5 miles, going to take it to work tomorrow, 25 mile round trip, see what happens and check oil levels when I get to work.

Re: Seriously hate my TDI

Yes, very true actually. The derv mixed with the oil causing the actual oil level to go sky high, burning through the turbo and exhaust, christ, how long does this stuff take to burn off? :hyst :hyst

Re: Seriously hate my TDI

Ok I picked up my, the gasket had failed on the fuel pump. The garage get some miles on it and see how it goes. Literally driven 5 miles and upto temp, its smoking like it did originally before it blew. It could be burning poo from the oil/derv that was sprayed over the car, least im hoping it is. G...

Re: LOST MY JOB TODAY.

Where abouts do you live? You not fancy a job on the railway? Very good pay, no stress, final salary pension.. VT often recruit for onboard staff, it's only working in first class and the shop serving tea and coffee but it's £13 p/h.

Re: Seriously hate my TDI

Im seriously considering trading the car in against a petrol (without a turbo!), the mrs is refusing to drive it, and I dont blame her with the 16 month old in the rear. Ive seen a really nice volvo v40 with all the toys, leather cruise, FSH. The garage have said they will be using the car for the n...

Re: Seriously hate my TDI

All it needed was a new gasket. Think they said on the pump? Only charging me for parts purely because of the amount I have already spent. I'm sure he said pump, but defo said at the back of the engine. Wtf?

Re: Seriously hate my TDI

As far as I know the injectors havent been replaced, however yes, they did say it could be the injector seals, because thats the only way derv could have mixed with the oil. No idea how much its going to cost, whats the ballpark figure if its a seal? It sounds like a simple thing to replace, well, I...

Seriously hate my TDI

Ok, so this morning I noticed my tdi was smoking from the rear on idle, did't take much notice, it often does this upto startup. Came off the motorway, went to change lanes, BAM, smoke everywhere, engine just revved out of control, pulled over switched off. Phoned the RAC, they towed it to a VW Spec...

Re: B5.5 2.0 (OEM+), now a TDI 130!

The brake issue has now been sorted. Big job, expensive to. New brake calipers, hoses, fluids, master cylinder and servo. This was due to water filling up in the Plenum chamber then getting into the brake system. I have also since unblocked the drain plugs and resealed the pollen filter housing usin...

EGR Blank, YES? NO?

Ok guys, I would seriously like some genuine opinions on blanking the EGR with an allard kit. I have a PD130 B5.5 (2001 plate but 2002 model). Read so much about it, but some say its a bad idea, some say its great. At 137,000 miles its due a clean, but I was thinking of just taking the thing off. Iv...
