thanks, will look today, is the fuel filter behind the plastic cover over rear axle? i have read that some kind of charcoal filter may be the cause?

petrol smell in cabin
hi, been away for ages, I have a 98 1.8t aeb engine estate, when I park up and return the cabin smells of petrol, cant find any of the normal things under the bonnet, help please.

hi, i need to change the engine oil on my b5 1.8 t, is it easy to do laying onthe floor, also how do i reset the oil service light? i have been told that it is critical to replace the oil asap as these engines are liable to turbo failure if i dont, i have got mobil 1 0/40w is this ok?

springs coming, going to start work on my b5 suspension and wheels, really want a meet. might go to prept at brands hatch and see if i can see a few passats there, dont normally see any though so we need to put in an appearance

me too, but i think it is, will be affecting hid headlights too, apparantely they must be self cleaning and self levelling, gutted!

i want to fit coilovers but i am not sure if the new mot laws cover coilovers, i have heard that suspension and braking mods will be included from jan 2012.

i had led sidelights in mine, both blew so have gone back to std bulbs, just look poo with mt hid headlights, but hey dont think led like any surges.

lmao, cheers fellas wrapped wires around my finger and pulled really hard, felt so wrong but did the job just perfect, apart from skinning my hand. my dub now has passed its mot

i get really wound up if im following any small car ie micra, agila or the dreaded honda jazz, i just see red as these so called drivers do many randomn things especially travelling at 15mph then just braking for nothing. grrrrrr ban all them small cars. thanx, not vagcom but used the snap on computer/fault finder. would it set of the airbag if i try the wires around the other way?

cheers chaps,yes its petrol. got the k and n filter, should i wash it before fitting with soapy water to get rid of some oil?
