Re: Problems with windows going down.
First I would see if your car cant 100% open the windows from the keyfob. The earlier models like my 2002 passat would not allow this, an additional recode of the ECU was required. Since yours is far newer it wouldnt surprise me if it would do it. Seems wierd it was only open half way - its usually ...

Re: Problems with windows going down.
I had this problem on my B5.5 passat. I had changed the interior and managed to squash the wires that control the window on the door card between the door and the doorcard. This resulted in a frayed wire which would randomly short out and open the windows - always over night for some reason and when...

Re: Newbie from Hampshire B5.5 V6 Tdi Owner!!!
Hey, welcome to UKPassats.
Where abouts in Hampshire are you?
I used to go to No-Rice but since its been at Guildford the local chavs have been turning up in their novas and saxos and causing quite a bit of trouble.
Look forward to seeing you around one day.

Retrim headlining - major sagging from fibreglass!
Does anyone have any ideas to a big problem I have? Took the headlining out of my B5.5 estate a few days ago. Peeled back the original cloth material however it was only possible to remove with 1 layer of fibreglass stuck to the back of it. - Yes the roof lining is faibreglass and not wood! N...

Re: Overboost when temp below 90degrees, then fine!
because anything bout approx 2k rpm and once letting off it keeps on boosting for about 2 seconds then drops off and decelerates.dave_1 wrote:Hi
Just check the live data temp is the same as the gauge.
Why do you think its overboost?

Overboost when temp below 90degrees, then fine!
I think im right in saying that after replacing my turbo around 10 weeks ago it will overboost until the temp gauge reaches exactly 90 degrees. Does anyone know why the temp would effect this? Its a brand new turbo and so shouldnt be clogged up vanes or anything. Vacum pipes, EGR valve, N75 ( or wha...

mine was doing the same thing with the bottom hose to header tank. There were loads and loads of little bubbles rising up, making the header tank seriously pressurised and dropping the level. After letting it cool it would be at the same level. As i said before i did the lot inc rad, head gasket, wa...

pete, the HID setup will be identical to your main lights. If you remember you plug into the bulb holders that go into the foglights into the loom for the HID. Basically its identical but your dealing with the fogs. You will need to find somewhere to hide the ballast boxes.
