Re: What are the best OEM stereos to fit in a B6

You havn't said whether you want Navi or not?
And what about SD Card, DVD, USB, reverse camera, sub woofer, aux outputs for slave amp, MFSW control, MFD, DAB?
You'll have to be more precise about what options you want to decide "what's the best".

Re: Start stop not working 2011 Dsg diesel

74% remaining. My thoughts were that this was too low for auto stop even though there is lots of life remaining. If you have a battery management system that's a slave/subsystem of the CAN Gateway then it might be worthwhile going into Long Adaptation - Size and see whether your Start-Stop will ope...

Re: Mk7 golf wheel fully working Inc Cruise control

I didn't think the resistor was necessary if you have a single igniter airbag system. Anyways, I'd already done the deal with Hazzy Dayz to buy and have everything installed but he (who's well experienced in MFD and MFSW upgrades) wouldn't do it to allow install a Golf Mk V flat-bottomed style wheel...

What 74% expired life, or life remaining? If <25% life remaining it may be that it's being picked up as lower than that needed to provide BlueMotion services

In addition to jasimog's reply, yes. There could be a code showing in VCDS.

The codes given are identical to the codes given (converted from hex) in a Climatronic system.

I will be protected exactly as designed as there still an working airbag all fully connected up and working and this will not invalidate any of my insurance! Re: Highline Plus Bluetooth screen

The whole 2.8 inch touch screen has gone off just a dead blank grey screen. Perhaps a fuse The MFD is the small screen between your two dashboard dials. If that's gone absolutely blank with nothing being displayed wouldn't think it's anything to do with your IPhone. There's a unit underneath your p...

That Exide you have is definitely a "Start Stop" battery -- here's an equivalent in case you need from Tanya who's known to be price competitive https://www.tayna.co.uk/H15-Varta-Start-Stop-Plus-AGM-Car-Battery-605901095-P8824.html There are Exide date codes but I don't know where they're ...

You say your screen has "turned off". Do you mean the whole MFD has stopped, i e it's not giving anything at all like no indication that doors are open etc? Or do you mean that only your 'phone numbers, calling, etc have stopped being displayed? Did you upgrade to an IPhone 6 or was it the...

Re: Mk7 golf wheel fully working Inc Cruise control

Very nice then B) But take care if you have dual airbag system. The fitter might've disabled one of your igniter circuits. I've got dual airbags and was going to buy a Mk V (flat bottomed similar to yours) But the fitter couldn't do it coz of my dual airbag system -- so ended up with the eight-butto...

Well, was it a pothole or was it the edge of the road? If pothole it's the traffic authority's responsibility If edge of road then it'd be where the road ends and the adjacent private land begins Passing point laybys are the traffic authorities' responsibility Did you change two speed sensors or onl...

This on a B5.,5 or B6? If B6 what year? Miles?

ABS sensors pick up rotation of the ABS disks attached to your hubs. These might've been damaged / warped
Did you change both sensors?

I assume you mean the BlueMotion isn't operating? That does depend on good battery condition. And a battery of the correct type (that can be recognised by the car's battery control module) Varta do them. But they're not cheap If your car's got either the correct battery that's now too old (five year...

Re: Newbie with stereo concerns.

For my Pioneer head unit I use a Dynamic Sounds DS-VW002 adapter like this one: http://r.ebay.com/5rgYOL. It supports a multifunction steering wheel if you have one, but it still works fine if you don't. See the Connects2 website. They do sell directly. I had their adapter for my MFSW for my JVC in...

Latest androids, like the RNS510, require you to have at least an "F" version of CANbus module I'm a complete noob to the CANbus thing. Is there an easy way to check my version? Mine is a 2010 (10) Highline model, so hopefully has a more recent/higher version. The CANbus module is upside ...

Aha, you don't mean door warning lights as on dash. You mean "puddle lights" at the bottom of the doors, then. Bit slow at that time of the morning :) I've got the SEL so mine were already there. I just updated to LEDs: white down lighters with reds facing aft. They come on whether the sid...

May be nothing for it but to remove door card and see what's come adrift IMO Sometimes the ball at the end of the Bowden cable comes out from its claw clasp. So it's only the two rear pax doors that don't show on the MFD graphic when open? I'm trying to see whether there's any pick up via another sensor for the rear doors open Wiring a rear door sensor to the front sensor would mean the graphic wrong for rear door open -- it would show  front door ...
