Re: 312 mm brakes
Rod, I think some late Sports did get 312mm brakes. Bigger brake size was fitted due to heavier (B5.5) V5 and V6/ V6 TDI engines (front and rear brake balance). None of the 4 cylinder engines EVER had 312mm brakes. a mate of mine had a2001(y) 130 sport and it looked n untouched car and that had 312...

Any as long as you change it next time. I'd use plastic as fitted from the factory.

Re: sub - from gamma head unit?
I wasn't suggesting treble up front and mid in rear, I mean't treble to the 4 tweeters and mid to the 4 lower door speakers and a sub in the boot. That's exactly what you were saying your post. Please read it again below. Why not just use a 3 way crossover? take a left right signal from the head un...

Re: sub - from gamma head unit?
Why not just use a 3 way crossover? take a left right signal from the head unit and put it to a 3 way, set front speakers at treble, rear doors at mid and sub in boot or where ever, the sub signal will be pre amped from the head unit so make sure the sub can handle pre amp, or even better split the...

The only difference in grills could be harder plastic so more prone to breaking, but do the same job as genuine.

Re: 100k service approaching
Nothing, just stick to normal servicing.
You can do gearbox oil and cambelt earlier, but that's up to you. It's not gonna fall apart after 100k.

Nope, just move aircon pipe forward a bit (force it). It should fit fairly easy, you are not trying hard enough.

Ferry is cheaper plus you get 2hrs to have a rest . Eurotunnel is quicker, but more expensive.

I have got 17's on Audi with 225/50/17 tyres and it's more comfy than Passat on 205/55/16.
More rubber - more comfort. Works only on the cars lol

Re: New Tyres
I have recently fited some Toyo T1 Sports on the front of mine and am very impressed with the price and performance in dry and wet and they aren't noisy at all. Think The T1 Sport has replaced the T1-R which has a similar tread pattern to the F1 GSD3. Karl 16'' tyres is completely different. IMHO t...

Re: Amazing car! Just drove across Europe and back
I have had mine for 5 years now and there is nothing on the market that I think would be a good replacement and would meet everything the Passat does Don't be so sceptic. I drove my Passat home (was parked at work for 3weeks) and doesn't drive as nice as Audi does or is as comfy. In the end of the ...
