Re: B5.5 Boring and on a Budget!

A lot, not just a bit. Same goes for s/h parts, its a contentious and often unpopular opinion of mine on a certain forum when I bemoan clueless or starry eyed fools supporting these crazy prices. On the flipside mine is still worth a significant amount of what I paid for it, and should i ever sell, ...

Simple. VW T5, a few tweaks and you get a van that can match the Passat on any road :)

Re: Error code Help!

Google the error code and look for results from the ross tech site

Or better still buy the proper vag com software and itll tell you what the error actually means and how to fault find the cause.

Re: B5.5 ... my one

Controversially ive found a good amp, and i mean a good one, enhances the full spectrum of sound, a much richer quality driving speakers properly rather thsn what is realistically a very small ecenomically designed head unit amp. I dont mean silly or fictional amplification levels either, a compact ...

Re: Best door lock actuator?

rear door cards arent difficult to remove in situ when closed. Hi Mindriot. I tried to remove my doorcard while the door is locked and wasnt very successful :( , any tips on how to do this? Sorry just saw this. Look up removing door regulator panels, think theres something in the howto index list.

Look in the howto list to see how yours has failed like almost every other one made and how to fix it.

Re: Aftermarket radio rubbish reception

Cant remember sorry last time i did a stereo on a B6 was some time ago now. Plugging both in parallells the antennas and alters the reception properties i believe. I know estates had this mine certainly did, not sure about saloons. I suppose you just try both and see which works better :) You still ...

Re: Aftermarket radio rubbish reception

Yes you need a booster for aftermarket, this is extremely common knowledge.

The cars that have a double fakra had a diversity antenna system stereo, you shouldnt plug both in that will also ruin reception on aftermarket, only plug in the primary antenna.

Re: 12 volt outlets

Simple to do, run a fused dedicated live from battery, and mod the wiring, personally id do it with a relay and a changeover switch for off/switched/permanent live. Easy if you know what youre doing, otherwise visit an auto electrician and it shouldnt be a difficult or expensive job. I have a simila...

Re: Window Motor PLEASE HELP!!

Door control module is often part of motor electronics, put the wrong one in and you get all sorts of problems. Common mistake is mixing B5 and B5.5 parts, and earlier vs later revised b5.5 items. Always try to match part numbers. Also some sellers are muppets and dont know how to accurately list pa...

Must be one of the very last BXE lol most self destructed long ago! If you like it keep it going, simple if its not costing much. You could buy something nearly new and still shell out plenty if you get the wrong one and theres plenty of sharks peddling junk out there. A recon turbo and fitting shou...

Yep doing stuff by torchlight in the rain, fun isnt it. I always carry a full toolkit, jack, stands the lot lol, saved my skin a few times but its easier to do so in a van like the T5 :) Oh and full overalls, well worth it having them. I always park away from the crowd, yet always find some junkpile parked next to me when i return!

99% of damage to mine is idiots and not once has anyone left details owning up.
