Re: Heating problems and CLR - now fixed!
So I finally fixed the heating, checked the waterpump and changed the thermostat so now the car comes up to temp quickly and doesnt move around so ruled those out. Next step was to get a bottle of rust remover and limescale remover from Homebase (did a fair bit of looking to this on Passatworld) and...

MOT saga continues
So I had the valve cover gasket replaced today and the car is now running 100% perfect again. Took it back to the MOT place (Mr.Clutch in KIngston) and it failed emissions again and the headlight aim. He claimed that the passenger side lamp was hazy and needs to be replaced, surely sanding it down a...

Re: passat 1.8 20v hesitation at low revs
I have just had a similar problem on my car as it was drowning the spark plugs in oil, new valve cover gasket sorted it out but I need to change some parts of the PCV system to prevent it happening again.

Re: Oil on sparkplugs
So looks like the recent troubles with the car were the oily plugs so the valve cover gaskets are getting changed. Now on to the issue with the PCV system - I dont want it to happen again so need to know what to change. All of the guides on the net seem to relate to the 1.8T or other models. Can any...

Thanks for the advice,I'll get my local mechanic to check this out for me. If there is a fault I'm hoping that the problm will be covered by the BRC on the AA plan - it's not specifically excluded so fingers crossed!
