additional carrier bag hook in the boot
hi
Got a b8 saloon with one carrier bag hook in the boot, right handside behind the driver, I've looked on the left handside but cannot see any holes so can an additional handle be fitted? are the holes covered or something or do they just not exist thus non extra hooks?
Thanks

Re: Passat BiTDi 240bhp high mileage report
I was having an issue with mine when driving on motorways in particular, where when you went over a motorway bridge expansion joint the front of the car felt like it was it was jumping sideways!!
Couldn't find anything wrong with front suspension, but I had a suspicion it was the front shocks. So ...

ouch! :(
Thats going to make it an awkward job then, if the connectors can just be re attached with the appropriate wiring diagram may be lucky, but if you need wiring looms because they yanked the cables and caused connection issues further down the cable then could be expensive! sorry :(

without seeing what damage was done, a replacement unit can be supplied and fitted from £1.2k upwards if you shop around.

Excellent news, Ive bought a BiTDi a month ago, 65 plate, 85k mileage, full service history, 2x dsg oil changes, 2x haldex oil changes, oil changed round the 10k mark.
Ive had to change the driver side window switch as the one touch wouldn't work for the driver door.

how to drain water from boot
Hi all
Was driving to cinema and kids at the back said they could hear water sloshing around, and after a while I heard it as well, so got home, removed the sides trim and both pipes leaving down from the small holes at the top next to boot hinges were knackered, one had perished and wasn't even ...

Im using Nokian AllWeather tyres.

Only think Ive noticed with these tyres, is that at the correct ...

Newer version of maps than 8477
Is there a more up to date version of the rns-510 maps, currently have 8477 installed, seen a few on eBay that have higher numbers, e.g 8536, are these legit?

Re: Wipers stop when stationary!!
my b6 does that.
When in auto mode, when car is stationary wipers stop unless I move the switch to the rightmost in which case they sometimes do an additional wipe or two if needed.

Assuming you currently have red half height clocks.
If you buy a red full height cluster (clocks) then its plug and play, no new bits no nothing, will have to get the new cluster reset so it matches the milleage on your current clocks.
If you go for white cluster, then you will either need to cut ...

Re: Lights flicking between dim and bright on idle?
Get your battery checked, I had exactly the same issue last winter, lights would dim, and pulse, also found, the rns510 would turn of, heating would turn of.
Turned out (for me) battery was on its way out, it was the original fitted from factory, so not bad for a 9 year old battery.

How easy is it to fit? the link above is for metal manifolds? is it suitable for passats?
