Re: Rear shocks for 1.8T Sport Estate?
Okay Gaz but I find that surprising. I would fully expect a heavier spring to require a heavier damper.

Re: Rear shocks for 1.8T Sport Estate?
I'd expect the estate to have heavier damping due to it's load carrying capacity.

Part number request
My old Passat 1.8t finally blew the head gasket after 200,000 miles, I have it all back together but I need the O ring for the hard metal pipe that runs over the inlet manifold to the flange at the rear of the head, it bolts on to the flange with two 10mm bolts Engine code is AWT and it's a 2001 tha...

Re: The run up to tighter DPF laws
If we die off out of the way, there will be less people to operate polluting machines, so the air quality will be better. Better quality of air and less people breathing it in means there will be more good air to go around. We all need to die at some point, so it might as well be sooner rather than...

Re: The run up to tighter DPF laws
In time the full ramifications to our health will become clearer and the cost of the problem to the NHS trying to fight it. We're all living too long nowadays anyway. If it means we die off younger as a result of breathing in soot, it will be a better place for our kids, with more wealth and houses...

Re: The run up to tighter DPF laws
The garage wire link, you know full well, scroll back up the thread. It is a simple test granted but valid, if the tester chooses to ignore the result that’s his prerogative. Tester sympathy is exploited to the full by many which is why we’re in this situation in the first place. In time the full ra...

A simple tap with a hammer will determine whether it’s in there or not, pretty simple.

It's laughable, I posted this on Audi-Sport.net on the 12th of September http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/food-for-thought-dpf-removal-legal-implications.342307/ Your post said "fake news" Gazwould, but now well over a month later you post this on here and it's now plausible? It's just...

Can you scan for codes? Unusual for the EML to come on with low oil pressure.

Re: Think me engine has gone ?
Run the engine, disconnect one injector at a time, does it run any different? If one cylinder is missing you will hear a noticeable drop in revs. If there's no difference it could be low oil pressure not opening the valves. I just want to dismiss cool packs first. Should still idle normally even wit...

I wouldn't be happy with that, a smear of sicaflex or similar on top and bottom of seal then tightened down would guarantee a water tight seal, we all know how Vw's love ingesting [emoji97]

I had a harness on mine, took it off and sold it, no difference in performance at all. Ballast fits nicely under the headlight, tight but it fits.
