Re: Grinding noise from front driver side?
I used to get a grinding and found it was the brake disc protection plate just touching very slightly for some reason when you turn the steering it got worse, the protection covers on passats seems to be quite weak but do push back very easily

Re: Moog Control Arms
Had 2 sets of cheap arms in 6 years first set where changed after 5 years as I was changing the springs/shocks etc but they was still in reasonable condition and probably would have lasted another 2-3 years at least I did around 6-8k per year then

Re: Recon Drive Shaft
Used J&R shafts many times without issue, and pretty easy to change the whole shaft too
I would say half the reviews on google are from idiots that actually ordered the wrong thing themselves then blame it on J&R take it with a pinch of salt

Re: TDI 130 sport differential bearing
The 5 speeds are just as bad, just don't seem to be as widely reported but I hear of a lot failing around 120 to 150k diff bearing aren't that heard to change even with the gearbox still on the car but I suspect like Karl has said above the noise isn't just diff it's more likely to be layshaft etc q...

Re: Low mileage petrol have gone up in value
Certainly not worth anything near that, also custom cars are done to your taste he's unlikely to get another buyer that like everything he's done to come close to that price closer to the mark would be £3500
Custom or not it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it

Re: Control arm kits....
I've used a couple of the cheap kits with no issues but mine wasn't lowered etc but I think they are ok for normal driving if set correctly and that is half the issue with arms failing early people don't set them correctly and the bushes fail early, but I had the first cheap set on my car for over 4...

Don't forget to cover the o'rings in PAG oil this will help them seal and also help to stop them drying and cracking

Re: Traction Control Light Coming On After Tyres Replaced
I found this out trying to fit wider tyres on the rear, 225/45 front and 245/45 rear, it didn't go well, power would cut mid corner and it was random, had to get matched tyres in the end. I used to have exactly the same size tyres are this on my Passat and the Audi and no issues on either :-?? was ...

Re: My TDI 130 Highline
It's not a bad thing to get them out asap as they are a pita usually to remove and if you can get some grease in there then there is no real issue getting them out in the future when you come to fitting arms on the suspension
