Fixed! It was the boost pipe that goes in turbo. Had a small soft spot!!

This is so weird...

I checked out the turbo today and shaft all spinning correctly as it should, done an measuring block test output 11 and have noticed a problem.

Defo no rags etc... Car runs for a bit until I try to get some boost then it starts to die, I can sit there reving it just can't drive it. EGR is disconnected, has been for a while but as the suction was further back than that it shouldn't be that right?

Can a turbo fail and just not provide enough ...

As from my previous post, I had issues with boost low down. Today I adjusted my actuator a bit and took for a test drive and broke down, engine stalled and wouldn't restart!

I called the AA has had a car full of kids, he checked the boost pipe and noticed it was compressed, the engine was drawing ...

I think TPS are pretty close to that now too.

Ok changed MAP and MAF, I think its driving better but I'm still lacking boost at low RPM. I checked vacuum one way valve and thats good, also when i checked it was under vacuum so defo no leaks. It got to be actuator adjustment surely?? N75 duty not up to 80?

I'm not sure yet, currently they need stripping back and repainted. I'm going to get the centers done then depending on how much that costs will dictate the price... depends if you want the finished articles or as they are?

Is it lumpy when it first fires up or just normal?

That looks really good, very expensive though thats like 1/15th of what my cars worth lol. But i'm getting pretty annoyed with my red background fading in the sunshine.

Thanks for your reply, I didn't realise those sensors were so cheap!! I ordered a new MAF insert and bosch MAP sensor so will fit and give it a test as it could stop my smoking issues. I'm off work next week so will get another reading of boost etc then and post a graph. I was just thinking today ...

I think it might be set wrong though.

Quick question, i also wanted to try to adjust my actuator stop screw only when i looked there's no way i can reach it. What's the best way to do this??

Haha funny you should say that, I left it connected!!! but I was thinking of disconnecting it now you said that before I buy any sensors I will get rid.

I'm getting boost problems too but I've done the simplification mod so it's not vacuum for me.

I posted a few months ago but still can't get to the bottom of it. Just need some suggestions if possible as i don't have a scooby what to try next.

Cheers desertstorm, this is a recon turbo eBay job. From googling most people say they have never bought one that hadn't needed adjusting, my actuator length is good but the spool up at low rpm isn't hitting specified boost. Driving it, say I pull out on a roundabout if my revs are too low it's a ...

Quick update, I've decatted the car which probably one of the best mods I've done second to the remap but it still hasn't fixed the low boost at low rpm.

I've been doing some more research and I'm thinking the actuator stop screw might be adjusted wrong. Has anyone adjusted that before and got any ...

I'd put them where the old CDchangers were.
