Re: Rear passenger door locked...

Could well be a broken couple of wires in the rubber boot?
Had this on my last wagon(main live feed broken through completely)you can get at it with the front door open to have a look/check test.

Re: Sealing roll (banish the water for good)

Seeing as the b5/5.5 suffer really badly I thought this might be the best section? I'm not looking to make money, more to help fellow members. I brought some of this from vw in the past but recently they said they no longer stock it? And this stuff is great for door panels and pollen filter as it doe...

Sealing roll (banish the water for good)

Hi guys Don't know if this is in the wrong place? Mods feel free to move and I apologise if it is. Having just come back into the b5.5 Passat fold in now in the process of waterproofing And sealing my latest one up. Re: Door handle nightmare, need help!

If you've taken the outer door handle off? But haven't noted where you removed the small black tab that goes into the ribbed channel in the handle :hyst you're on a hiding to nothing! If its slightly out it will affect the opening/closing of said door! If its too slack then pulling the internal pull...

Doesn't sound like a very clued up garage to me [-x I mean who's going to do the cambelt and not replace the damper/tensioner? It tensions/dampens the vibrations on the cambelt in the interest of service life of the belt.Water pump, they shouldn't even have to ask that one, name and shame, I'm sure...

Re: Water ingres problem. This isn't right. Is it?

Did you not have the full cover that comes with the car then? big bit of plastic that covers the whole plenum, or on B5's the little Pollen filter cover? Yes mine has the full length cover and the thin gutter type channel over the filter housing(that's a poo design) since I did my own my cars been ...

Re: Water ingres problem. This isn't right. Is it?

As for the water ingress! Mine had the drain channel in place but water was still getting onto the filter and into the footwell. I made my own cover out of a plastic paint roller tray cut in half,It fitted perfectly and with the back section left open it still lets air to enter the cabin. No more wa...

Re: Interior Lights Staying on

Dodgy lock module I would have to say! Could be solder joints or bad micro switch? The cars thinking the doors still open so lights stay on. I would be inclined to strip the module out and check it with a multimeter. Wouldn't hurt to touch up the solder on the pins while its out I would say a good c...

Re: Erm, where does this go?

I'm sure it's a panel off job? When removing the blank the screw it should be undone slowly while easing the blank out.
That way you don't go too far and the ring won't fall into the bottom of the door.
I feel your pain! As these doors/locks are a pain until you've done one or two.

Re: Alarm won't stop sounding

When you say your passenger footwell is dry? I take it you mean under the carpets?
Also have you checked the multi plugs behind the pass kick panel? They have a nasty habit of going green and corroded.
Regarding the rear door, sounds like the main micro/solder joints playing up.

I had water running onto my filter and down the feed pipe and behind the carpets! I left the back part open so I still get great air flow but not a ...

Forgot to add! Does your car reconise when the individual doors are opened? And do you get the message on the dash? And are your puddle lights working when the doors are open? Any of these leads to the modules.

Re: Door locks

Get it scanned! Trouble being they (door modules) have a habit of being intermittent! What makes you think it's ccm? If its bone dry under your carpets? If not ccm then there's only wiring and have you checked the signal to the doors? You've got the multi plug connectors up in the passenger footwell...

Rubber boot in door pillar ? Water can Run through these down inside of pillar onto the carpet?
I took mine off and punched some holes through the bottom of the boot, that way the water drains out before getting in the car.

Sounds like the symptoms I had on mine when I got it. If you get the car vag-com scanned it will probably show door lock module implausible signal faults? If you get the module out and open it up its quite easy to see what's going on in there. You can then check the micro switches and boards and re ...

I would have to say that your carrier panel seals have gone on your doors? When you get heavy rain it runs between door and carrier then over the plastic trim into the footwells.
